For this unit, we were to conduct our own individual projects with little guidance and we had to show everything that we produced and everything we found by using our project-based learning skills and creating a poster. My original question for this project was the one you see on the board as "Question 1." I answered this question pretty quickly using the information I got from online and figuring out different formulas I could use to figure out an overall answer. My question was, Will more fuel be used when driving from my house to school with a 2014 Dodge Ram or 2014 Toyota Tundra? The final answer was that the Dodge Ram gets better fuel mileage. Since I answered this question a bit too quickly I created another question that overall fits into the title of my board as well as does the first question. The second question was, Out of these 4 ways, keeping track of speed, an odometer, a GPS system or google maps, which one is the best to use when calculating fuel mileage. I had to research each one the methods and I had to figure out formulas that you would use for each one of the methods. My final results after doing all the research were that a GPS system is the most reliable. I feel as though I created two very good questions that I was actually pretty interested in. When presenting this to strangers, many found these results pretty amazing and as did I. For this project I felt as though I didn't quite have a mathematical frame work. Although I did have a few equations I felt as though I didn't really do the math, I mainly just did research. But I feel like even though I didn't exactly do a whole that of math I feel like its the knowledge I gained and the knowledge I gave to other people that may not have known this type of information. Overall, I felt like I answered the question to the best of my knowledge but I felt like the poster could have been a little prettier.
